I have one life and one chance to make it count for something…..I’m free to choose what that something is, and the something I’ve chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands – this is not optional – my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.”
I love this quote by President Jimmy Carter. Regardless of your political persuasion, you have to admit that this quote makes you pause and ponder, “Am I doing all I can with what I have been given?” It is my firm belief that we are all blessed with unique gifts that will not only help us through this life, but they will also enable us to lift and serve others and truly make a difference in this world. If you are not sure what your unique gift or talent is, I would encourage you to ponder and pray about it. What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing and could do for hours without becoming bored or tired? Not only does it not make you tired, it invigorates you. Start there. Start thinking how you could use that to serve others and also make your own life better in the process. My passion is health and fitness. I get so excited when people tell me that I am the only person that has ever been able to make them enjoy coming to exercise class. I love it when something I have learned about nutrition is helpful to someone else. Other than home, the gym is one of my absolute favorite places to be. It truly invigorates me. Ramtha said,
To let life happen to you is irresponsible. To create your day is your divine right.”
May you all uncover your gifts and begin creating each day and making it the best it can be by making a difference to all those within your sphere of influence.
